I work in Norfolk and Suffolk, designing large country gardens, small city gardens and everything in between.
I specialise in wildlife-friendly, plant-filled designs that suit each garden’s location and conditions, and are individually tailored to my clients’ needs and likes. My garden philosophy is to plant the right plant in the right place, so that they flourish naturally and are easy to look after.
If you’re interested in having a design created for your garden, do get in touch for an informal chat, and to arrange a consultation visit, so I can see your garden and discuss your design brief in more detail.
I’ll provide an estimate for your design after consulting with you about what you’d like from your garden, your budget and preferred style.
- Whole garden design in a range of styles.
- Care & pruning guides so that you can continue to look after your plants.
- Children’s garden designs – natural play and exploration areas, fairy gardens, mud kitchens, sand and water play spaces.
- Wildlife-friendly garden designs – wildflower borders, bee and butterfly-friendly planting, bug hotels, wildlife habitats, ponds.
- Fruit and vegetable gardens – raised beds, soil improvement and potager gardens.
- Border renovations and new planting suited to the conditions of the site.
Once I have presented your final garden design, I can provide an estimate for supplying plants, setting out and planting. I can also recommend friendly and experienced landscaping contractors, who can provide an estimate for the construction of your garden design.
I have a Diploma in Garden Design And The Principles of Horticulture from Easton and Otley College, where I also studied the RHS Level 3 Practical Certificate in Horticulture.
I also teach an Introduction to Garden Design course and Border Design classes at the Norfolk School of Gardening.
I have Public Liability and Professional Indemnity insurance cover.

“Working with Rajul has been a delight at all stages. From the initial planning discussions, when she listened to our thoughts and ideas with sensitivity, to the ordering of plants and their placement, the relationship has been one of cooperation and mutual enjoyment. We recommend her work without reservation.”
“I contacted Rajul after visiting her lovely garden on an open day and having faith that she could come up with some ideas for turning my concrete garden into a more child friendly and enjoyable family space. Rajul came up with a great design which was achieved by listening to what our needs were and suggesting and sketching ideas that that might fit the brief. As a client I was probably a bit tricky having a tendancy to procrastinate and change my mind but she never showed any exaperation and when coming to my house was always prompt and offering thoughts and ideas, adapting to my needs. She produced a great narrative, really nailing what we were about, and a great landscape design and planting plan. Work is beginning on my garden now and I am really excited to finally get a garden we can really enjoy and my child will be safe in. Can’t wait for my child to experience the joy of running under a sprinkler system at last!”
“Rajul was a pure delight to deal with and is someone who is very committed to delivering an excellent and highly professional service. We engaged Rajul to design an area to the front of our new kitchen extension. She was very attentive in taking details of our brief and clearly worked hard in providing a design which met our expectations in every respect. She is clearly an expert in her field and right from the outset we felt at ease with her advice and recommendations. We are now looking to bring Rajul back to implement her very detailed and bespoke planting plan which formed part and parcel of her design. We can highly recommend Rajul.”
