I spent a busy two days in September planting up one of my latest designs for a front garden in Ringland, near Norwich. It’s been amazing to be involved in the project the whole way through, from building site to finished landscaping and planting.
The design brief was to create a modern cottage garden look to fit with a very stylish new extension. The clients wanted a fair bit of patio space, with borders that are colourful and easy to maintain, and I suggested adding a water feature. The plants and trees will provide colour, movement and texture all year round, and attract pollinators.
Just a day after the plants went in, I could see butterflies, hoverflies and shield bugs in the borders. I can’t wait to see how this garden matures over the next few seasons, and to see the effect of the lighting scheme at night!
“Rajul was a pure delight to deal with and is someone who is very committed to delivering an excellent and highly professional service. We engaged Rajul to design an area to the front of our new kitchen extension. She was very attentive in taking details of our brief and clearly worked hard in providing a design which met our expectations in every respect. She is clearly an expert in her field and right from the outset we felt at ease with her advice and recommendations. We are now looking to bring Rajul back to implement her very detailed and bespoke planting plan which formed part and parcel of her design. We can highly recommend Rajul.”
To create a design with ‘wow’ factor for the front garden of David & Michelle’s cottage, which is sited in beautiful countryside, just outside the village of Ringland. The traditional, red-brick cottage is currently being extended to create a new main entrance and large, modern kitchen, with bifold doors that will open on to the front garden. The design for this garden could include: a path linking the driveway to the house, a patio with seating area, raised beds with colourful, architectural planting, a statement water feature, such as a sphere fountain, a lighting scheme, an extension to the existing fence/hedge to add privacy from the road, and screening for the oil tank.
